Application And Payment


Ⅰ.Application for the course and accommodation

Please note that application fees are not refundable.


By the application deadline (as listed in the COURSES section)

A:Internet
  1. Fill out and submit the application on the "Application"page of the SIL web site.

  2. At the same time, send two passport-size photos to SIL, and the application fees must be transferred to SIL Sapporo Nihongo Gakko postal account. Deposit/transfer the fee in Japanese yen to the postal savings account 19030-39799791 under the name SIL Sapporo Nihongo Gakko. When you complete the postal form, please enter your first and last name, so that we know who made the payment.

    (Note: you can skip this step by e-mailing a digital photo to our e-mail address - please compress your photo to a reasonable size!)
B:Postal Mail
  1. Fill out and send the application form on the "Application"page of the SIL web site, with two photos to SIL via postal mail.

  2. The application fees must be transferred to SIL Sapporo Nihongo Gakko postal account. Deposit/transfer the fee in Japanese yen to the postal savings account 19030-39799791 under the name SIL Sapporo Nihongo Gakko. When you complete the postal form, please enter your first and last name, so that we know who made the payment.

When the application form, application fee, and photos have been received by SIL, we consider the application process finished. SIL will contact the student once the application has been received.

For international students, please contact us for the payment method by e-mail (info@silnihongo.com).

As there are commission fees involved in receiving money from overseas, students must compensate SIL for these fees in cash, upon arriving at SIL. A transfer of the money by international postal money order in yen is acceptable as well. The commission fee of international postal money order might be lower than the bank transfer commission fee.

* Course and accommodation applications will be processed in the order they are received, so the earlier you apply, the better.


Special notes for accommodation

application fees

When students request more than one type of accommodation (i.e. one term homestay and one term at a weekly apartment), an additional application fee is required. If a student later chooses only one or the other, the other application fee will not be returned.

If we cannot fulfill a request for a certain form of accommodation, the student's fee will be used as the application fee for another form of accommodation.

If two people are staying in the same room, each person must fill out a separate application form, but the application fee must be paid once per room only.

One month before your course starts...

The course and accommodation fees (for the entire accommodation period) must be transferred to SIL Sapporo Nihongo Gakko postal account. Deposit/transfer the fee in Japanese yen to the postal savings account 19030-39799791 under the name SIL Sapporo Nihongo Gakko. When you complete the postal form, please enter your first and last name, so that we know who made the payment. The receipt you receive from the post office is your proof of payment. (International students: Please use an international postal money order. In the case that you cannot use an international money order, we can advise you as to means of money transfer via E-mail.)

When you have transferred the money, please inform SIL Sapporo Nihongo Gakko by e-mail or fax. Upon receipt of the fee, you will receive a confirmation via e-mail, fax, or postal mail.

If SIL has not received the money one month before your course starts, SIL will assume that you have cancelled the course and accommodation.


Cancellation

If a student cancels any of their courses or accommodations 4 weeks or less before their first course starts, they must pay a penalty.

Cancellation penalty for cancelled weekly apartment and boarding house after completed payment is decided in accordance with the cancellation policy of each accommodation.

If a student is absent from class, we are not able to refund the money for the days missed.




Ⅲ.Schedule notification

The information for the course schedule and the host family will be sent to the students two weeks before the course starts.
